Ok, I know this is an old blog post, but just thought I'd put in my two cents. I'm a lolita, and I think she wore the jumper skirt well.

And now, let's remember- clothes are clothes, individual articles of clothing are meant to be coordinated with other individual articles of clothing. If you only pair things up with stuff from the same brand or genre, how is it your own? You end up just looking like a mannequin- not to mention, pictures taken by the brand, like the one of the model with pink hair- are ADVERTISEMENT, so of course they're all going to look exactly alike. If you're just going to dress up the way they look, you might as well be cosplaying. Fashion is as much inspiration and creativity as it is brand loyalty.

Anyhow, I would've figured someone who was "A Real Lolita"^ would be a lot sweeter. I guess I'm an f'ing idiot, myself.

And by the way, wearing a sports bra does not make you look like a slut. At least she’s covering it with the blouse. I see some people who wear sports bras without anything over them.

I agree with the comment above. She never said she was lolita, she just took some of the clothes and mixed them with her regular clothing. So big deal, shes taking a few pieces of fashion and wearing it. Shouldn’t she have a right to be unique and wear what she wants. And yes, it does stop the stereotype of hip-hop in its tracks. I think she is gutsy and awesome to just be herself. Kudos to her for doing it
