MAKEUP GIVEAWAY! WIN THREE BRIGHT ELECTRO EYESHADOWS FROM LIME CRIME.

Lime Crime makeup from Doe Deere blog, makeup artist Xenia. Electro bright eyeshadow colors, makeup tutorials.

Reader Appreciation Week continues with another Lolita-friendly giveaway. I can’t thank you all enough for sending me links, magazine scans, and other inspiration. Reader Kagitsune introduced me to Doe Deere Blogazine – and it knocked my socks off. Xenia runs her own makeup company Lime Crime, and posts breathtaking tutorials on her blog. Now, you can try out these looks yourself… because she generously donated THREE mineral eyeshadows as prizes!

Goth, Victorian, Gothic Lolita makeup. Lime Crime electro new rave makeup, how to tutorials for Goth glam eyeshadow.
Xenia and I quickly found out we have a lot in common as blogger/entrepreneurs. Like me, she’s passionate about neo-Victoriana aesthetics and girlish creativity. Xenia couldn’t find any eyeshadow that was vibrant or long-lasting enough, so she created her own: Lime Crime Makeup.

What tip does she have for makeup-lovers? “A young woman who is already into makeup doesn’t need my advice, which is: do what you love.” My tip is: visit Doe Deere Blogazine. I guarantee you’ll be inspired by Xenia’s DIY tutorials.

British lady aristocrat and neo-Victorian makeup products. New Rave hipster makeup from Lime Crime.

Here’s your chance to win THREE mineral eyeshadows of your choice from Lime Crime! I know many of you are bursting with makeup tips, and I’d love to hear them.

HOW TO ENTER: Leave a comment with your favorite makeup tip. At the end of the week, my kitty Basil Farrow will pick the winner.

BONUS ENTRY: Want to double your chances of winning? If you spread the word about my contest – via Stumble, Digg, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, a blog entry or any other social network – you’ll get a second entry into the pool. Simply comment again with the word BONUS along with a link to where you spread the word.

Also keep the entries coming to win an Akina tuxedo top. So far, none of you have mentioned my favorite storybook villain…

Song of the Day #43: Makeup Tutorial: Kisaki of Phantasmagoria

† † † † † † †
Contest ends midnight on Sunday, Feb 15, 2008. One entry per person. To enter, leave a comment with your favorite makeup tip. To qualify for a second entry, follow the Bonus instructions above. ooh i LOVE make up! My top tip is tp do your eyeshalow before anything else – foundation or whatever. then, if the shadow falls down under your eyes (which is always does esp if its a dramatic colour!) you can just wipe it away with a face wipe without having to worry about removing your foundation you took ages to get right..then just go ahead to do your base stuff on a clean face. voila!

My best makeup tip…bright lips ALWAYS! bronzer NEVER!
I have been lusting after 'dragon scales' on the limecrime website for a while now, have you ever seen anything so awesome to put on your face.

I was inspired by the Korean film, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, to get matte red eyeshadow.

    http://media.collegepublisher.com/media/paper20…

In the film, she wears it on the eyelid from the bone ridge down, in an almond shape, with a thin red line connecting the upper eyelid's shadow from the inner eye just to the outside corner. The colour is a bright, fire engine/cherry red, a saturated red that I'm sure would look great on anyone, but does look especially good on the lead actress, Lee Young Ae, because of her pale skin and dark, black hair.

I would love to try a glam version of this look with Lime Crime's “Siren”, a saturated red with some serious glittery sheen!

Even if I don't win the prize package, I'd love to see you try this look, Carmina, I think it would be BOSS on you!

I do a rundown with my own rules/tips:

Clean skin, never apply makeup on a dirty face, and NEVER sleep with makeup on.

Eyelash curlers are lifesavers! If you look tired you just bring out this fantstic little device and let it work it´s magic on your tired half- asleep eyes.

If you want your eyes to get a more vibrant colour (assuming your eyeshadow is in a cakeish form) you can pour some water over it and voila! you get that darker than black colour you´ve always wanted.

hmm…i like getting creative with the makeup when i'm going out somewhere special but i dont have time to go out anymore(. .”) my favorite makeup tip would have to be DIY shade of red lipstick..i usually go dark by blending my regular cheap covergirl red lipstick with black eyeliner.first, on my finger tips until i get that perfect shade..then i just dab it on.

My make up tip…..When putting on foundation always make sure that you extend it beyond your chin, so that you do not get a line around your chin.

  • piyawadee

first love your style bright and so cute…my favorite make all time is start with nice light foundation and smooth with press powder then with a nice eye brown lines that match my eye bone < gotta do it right though take a while but well worth it> following with a base lighter color all over eye lid and a darker tone which could be totally different color depend what i wear but I must have a black black ink eye liner on the top finish line twist up at the end a bit not too catty and half way bottom eye line then my favorite one at a moment is using white eye pencil underneath the beginning of the eye line and over top make it look more going together… mascara and a bit extension also natural pink cheeks clear gloss and I'm really to rock the day…

The black eye liner, dark grey eyeshadow on the lid, then light grey in the center and a light white at thetop right under the brow. I used to just put one color on and call it shadow, but this looks much better!!

My random slippery ride O' makeup tips

    FOUNDATION
When Choosing the right daily foundation, always try for one with the same shade as your cheekbones…and never go two shades darker or lighter when choosing *the daily ones*, when wearing Foundation, you should always apply a thin layer of sun protection on first, the best features to apply it too are
*The Jawline *chin, forehead and jaw*
    *directly under the eye
    *very close to your eyebrows
*and if wanted you could also apply it on your own eyelids

gosh I love these random blogs

I really enjoy the adventures you have love

  • Samina

Always use foundation correctly! Never use a base that's a different color than your skin, and always use a setting powder if needed. Brush off the excess powder to prevent a cakey look.

  • http://www.lacarmina.com lacarmina

    Nice. :)

  • Living Breathing

Play with opposite/opposing colors. For example, I have green eyes, so I love using purple eyeliner (which now, after a little inspiration from your blog, has gotten me even more in love with yellow eyeshadow: it compliments the green, and it pops a little extra from the purple!), and I live in red lipsticks – though rasins also work really nicely. ^_^

Green / purple is Xenia's favorite combo. I'm glad the yellow is making an appearance!

Do the exact opposite of what my aunt Judy does!

No, seriously. My aunt believes that the more makeup you put on, the better you'll look. She once told me that “you can never have too much bronzer”!

While I think tarantulas are pretty cool, clumpy tarantula lashes are not.

That's my best makeup advice… we all have a Judy in our lives.

easily my fave, Heat up your eyeliner before you put it on, it makes it stay on longer.

  • http://www.lacarmina.com lacarmina

Oooh. What do you use to heat up your eyeliner?

  • Lhene

Focus on just one area when you're doing makeup. Like, really bright eyeshadows shouldn't be paired with a bright lipstick. It looks trashy. Instead, use a pale lipstick.
Also, if you really want eyeshadow to stay, put a thin layer of petroleum jelly (or chapstick if you're cheap) on you eyelid first. The powder sticks and doesn't smudge. I usually use chapstick, especially when I'm using eyeshadow for special effects (eg. dried blood, bruises, scars, etc.).

  • Jena

My favorite tip is to use a light colored eyeshadow, like white, on the inside corner of your eye and under your eyebrow to make your eyes pop and your other eyeshadow contrast more. :D

I'm a makeup junkie! It's like getting to collect color and sparkle, my two favorite things!

My best tip may sound a little crazy but it gives you amazing results. Heat your eyelash curler with your hairdryer. Just for a couple of seconds, you don't want it to get too hot. Then curl your lashes like would normally do and – Voila! A more dramatic look that will last at least 12 hours (in my experience)

I don't wear makeup a lot (since I'm not too good at putting it on at times xD) but something I do is press my eye to the side so I can get cleaner lines with my eyeliner then adjust the corners when I let the skin fall back to its natural place. (although for this one, I usually only use pencil eyeliner…I have yet to acquire a liquid one. Are they any good?)

Also, for eyeshadow, I do the darkest of the set of colors (be it three, four, etc), and work my way to the lighter, that way I can always reapply the darker colors and blend everything in. It goes back and forth really, dark, then light, then dark because I screwed up with the light in an area, and eventually it looks good haha~

Liquid eyeliners are a bit harder to apply, but with practice, you won't have smudges left behind. I recommend buying a quality eyeliner; the cheap ones are often too wet/oily and come off fast. :)

Though it doesn't seem to work well on me, I always think it would be cool to wear blue eyeshadow that sweeps up and out from your eyes, then blended/faded out the bottom and sides, then with black eyeliner defining the upper line of the shadow. I dunno, though, as I said–it doesn't work on me. You could try! ^ . ^

i think the most important piece of advice is PRACTICE!! all of my friends tell me that they suck at putting on make up, but i did too. then the more i worked with it the more i improved. for anyone who thinks they suck at it, they just need practice. and also use good quality make up [i dont mean it has to be expensive either]

    My tip(s) would be…..

If you are using a wet textured item set it with a dry. As in lipstick with powder over it. The oppisite is true as well, so if you are using a dry textured item, us a liquid first to set it. As in putting some sort of clear lipgloss or some thing a bit sticky underneath your eye shadow. It works well, you won't be dissapointed. Thanks for the opportunity, I love your blog and your cute kitty too!

  • http://cbardsley.blogspot.com/ Cheyanne

Mix a bit of Vaseline with your favorite powder eyeshadow in the palm of your hand (or in a small dish) and use a brush to apply it to your lips, it stays very well and gives a great color to your lips. Best part is that you can then have whatever color lips you want, without having to buy lipstick in bulk around halloween (that stuff is often cheap and wears off way to easy)

Sometimes if I want BRIGHT lips, I apply consealer to my lips when I apply it to my face, to start with a fresh base – really important when you want bright colors like a yellow, orange or light blue as they won't show up as well when you apply the color to plain lips.

Oh and for REALLY nice eyeliner lines, you can use your mascara – just take the brush out and dip a fine tip brush along the inside rim of the mascara tube and apply it like a liquid eyeliner. It works FANTASTICALLY for doing really dramatic lines around your eyes, and isn't as messy as most liquid eyeliner as it is thicker.

Speaking of mascara, a common tip – wipe the wand clean on a piece of tissue, then re-dip it into the tube – it stops clumps from forming. When doing this, do the bottom lashes first, as they climp the easiest, that way you won't have to clean the wand more than once.

Oh, and a favorite hair tip of mine – body lotion – seriously!! It holds down frizz and makes your hair smell really nice. Just put a bit in your hands, rub them together a little, and run your hands through your hair (don't apply to the roots though!)
Works nicely and, as long as you don't use to much, it won't weight your hair down as much as most de-frizzers. This is my fave as my hair gets REALLY frizzy in the winter. If this one dosn't count, cus it's not really “makeup” thats ok, just count my others ^^

Woo, I have a lot of tips :P I love to play around with makeup ^^

I’m a makeup junkie! It’s like getting to collect color and sparkle, my two favorite things!

My best tip may sound a little crazy but it gives you amazing results. Heat your eyelash curler with your hairdryer. Just for a couple of seconds, you don’t want it to get too hot. Then curl your lashes like would normally do and – Voila! A more dramatic look that will last at least 12 hours (in my experience)

I just noticed that Nyed posted the same tip. Oh well, great minds think a like (although it kind of bugs me when people say that :P )

My makeup tip is to never neglect the eyebrows and to embrace it if you have thick eyebrows, rather than plucking them to death. I love using a clear brow mascara to brush my eyebrows upward, and to emphasize the way they fan out on the inner corners near my nose. It makes them look very neat and tidy, yet adds a romantic sort of drama to them, a more natural drama than if one were to just darken them with a pencil.

I don’t wear makeup a lot (since I’m not too good at putting it on at times xD) but something I do is press my eye to the side so I can get cleaner lines with my eyeliner then adjust the corners when I let the skin fall back to its natural place.

    • http://www.lacarmina.com lacarmina

Liquid eyeliners are a bit harder to apply, but with practice, you won’t have smudges left behind. I recommend buying a quality eyeliner; the cheap ones are often too wet/oily and come off fast. :)

Though it doesn’t seem to work well on me, I always think it would be cool to wear blue eyeshadow that sweeps up and out from your eyes, then blended/faded out the bottom and sides, then with black eyeliner defining the upper line of the shadow. I dunno, though, as I said–it doesn’t work on me.

It works well, you won’t be dissapointed.

Sometimes if I want BRIGHT lips, I apply consealer to my lips when I apply it to my face, to start with a fresh base – really important when you want bright colors like a yellow, orange or light blue as they won’t show up as well when you apply the color to plain lips.

Oh and for REALLY nice eyeliner lines, you can use your mascara – just take the brush out and dip a fine tip brush along the inside rim of the mascara tube and apply it like a liquid eyeliner. -always wash your face & moisturize WELL
-don't put on foundation right away.. let the moisturizer absorb first.. while waiting, do eyeliner
-put on foundation up to bottom eyelid to get rid of any undereye darkness or signs of tire
    -blush is your best friend

make up tip: Eye primer! The best thing EVER! Makes the sadows more vibrant in colour AND stay where they are suppose to all night. If you can get a hold of a brand called Make Up Store there eye primer is the best. if nor, use MAC's. =)

  • Maan

    My favorite tips?

    1. Put black around your eyes (complete thin line on top, half line on the bottom of your eye) DO apply white/cream on your inner-eye lid. It will make your eyes look bigger :) For extra big eyes draw some 'eyelashes' beneath your eye, and put some white on the inside of your eyelid wich you fade out a bit towards the other corner of the eye.
    My example: http://nl.tinypic.com/view.php?pic=s13uza&s=5

Also, If you have eyebags, use a bit too light concealer on the bags and POOF. bags gone :)

    3. Cliché's are cliché for a reason; they work! Red lips (if you choose the right color) are sexy and a fake mole can look really cute, especially when doing a photoshoot. Everything is fake-able. If you like freckles, get a brown/orange (depens on your skincolor really) eyepencil and start applying :)

Anyway, my only real make-up tip: If you have a zit you need to cover up, put ice on it to reduce the swelling, then use light green (!!!) concealer to neutralize the redness. Then put powder or foundation over that. :)

To make my eyes look more like cat eyes (slimmer, and more ferocious), I take eye liner and draw a line from my top eye lid to the inner corner of my eye, and I go past the tear duct a little bit to make it looks like my eye is longer than it really is. Then I do the same for the outer corner, draw a little line past the corner. My eyes really do pop more when I do this. Also, it's just plain fun to do.

Don't overwash your face, and use very gentle clensers – esspecially in the winter. Over washing, or too deep and harsh washing with only cause more natural oils to be produced. Never wash till you get the “squeeky clean” feeling, as that means you have washed to much.

What kind of meds have you used?

I find alpha hydroxy acid (AHAs) creams work the best – they stimulate cell regeneration by burning off, or lightly removing, the top layer of skin cells. By doing this, healthier skin cells are exposed, improving skin texture and colour and allowing moisturisers to be absorbed so the skin remains supple.

Do you use Blotting Papers? They are great for when your on the go in the middle of the day, and notice your face is a little oily. They absorb the oil while leaving your makeup intact. ^^ I use them all the time, they are life savers!!

      • Audrey_Rott

Yeah just put a bit of cheap shampoo into your hand, I do leftie. Wet your big brushes first like blush, foundation and powder brushes but only wet the fibers, put them in the shampoo and roll in your hand like you are putting makeup on your palm, rinse thoroughly and then do the same for conditioner, then repeat for your liner, lip and shandow brushes. Now gently sqeeze excess water out of fibers and mold into general shape of brush, this prevents “frizz” of the brushes. put on some paper towel over night and voila! Clean healthy brushes that will last longer than if used over and over and getting clogged with product.

I think it's really important to keep your skin healthy:
Drinking lots of water is the best , as it will keep your skin hydrated and more luminous. Also, if your skin gets dry, it starts producing more oil, which is never a good thing, as it will make your make-up smudge more easily.
Use moisturizer or foundation with SPF 15 or higher. There are a lot of ways to enhance your skin using primers before foundation – I like Make Up For Ever's line of primers: http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P217…
And using a primer, or at least foundation, underneath your eye make-up makes it last much longer, so I disagree with people who have said to put eyeshadow on first.
At night, I like using Bio-Oil, which is a fairly cheap, but excellent way to improve your skin tone and get rid of fine lines.
Oh, and use a high-quality eye cream day and night, especially if you wear eye make-up every day like I do.

As for make-up, I have a very different outlook, since I am Asian and don't have a double eyelid at all, so eyelash curlers don't work for me, and I can't use any looks that require a crease. However, this has made me experiment a lot more with make-up, and really, my best advice is to just try out different looks, get a steady hand, and figure out what looks best on you rather than try to copy trendy looks that won't necessarily look good on you. And please practice smoky eyes before you go out; I can't help but cringe every time I see a girl who looks like a goose shat on her face.
If you're going to line your eyebrows, never use black, no matter how dark your eyebrows are – it's always too harsh, so use a dark brown, if you really want to line them.
If you find handling blush difficult, use an apricot shade rather than a pink shade, as it is less likely to make you look like you got slapped. It gives you a nice warm (not tan, ew) glow, especially if you sweep it around your chin and jawline too.

    That's it! I got really carried away…

Haha, I think I don't really want to win so much as I want to prevent people from having terrible beauty mishaps, which I see far too often. :P

Here's one of the BEST make-up tips I know…try it and you'll see:

When you are buying a lipstick, test it on your FINGERTIPS, not the back of your hand. The color of your fingertips is closer to the color of your lips, so you will get a better idea of what it will look like.

Always prime your lips everytime you wear lipstick. Using a sugar scrub or damp wash cloth, rub lips to exfoliate. Wipe off. Follow up with a single layer of chapstick (my favorite is blue tube-moisturizer-with SPF 15). Apply lipstick, set with powder (or just give it a minute if glossy) and go!

she's gorgeous! and I love her stuff. correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe you can find Lime Crime on ShanaLogic. com kind of a recent addition there hmm my tip would be more of a lesson learned type of thing. don't go for the cheapies! I've found that you get what you pay for a lot of the time. this does not mean go out and buy the most expensive thing you can find however. as far as my makeup goes I go for broke with my eyes and thus draw attention away from the stuff I don't like about my facial features. I love doing dark dramatic smoky eyes and I'll use color whenever I'm in the mood for something different. I love sparkle so I use shadows that are shimmery but I use them sparingly so I shine just a little. that way I get drama without too much glitter

However, this has made me experiment a lot more with make-up, and really, my best advice is to just try out different looks, get a steady hand, and figure out what looks best on you rather than try to copy trendy looks that won’t necessarily look good on you. And please practice smoky eyes before you go out; I can’t help but cringe every time I see a girl who looks like a goose shat on her face.
If you’re going to line your eyebrows, never use black, no matter how dark your eyebrows are – it’s always too harsh, so use a dark brown, if you really want to line them.
If you find handling blush difficult, use an apricot shade rather than a pink shade, as it is less likely to make you look like you got slapped. It gives you a nice warm (not tan, ew) glow, especially if you sweep it around your chin and jawline too.

    That’s it! I got really carried away…

Haha, I think I don’t really want to win so much as I want to prevent people from having terrible beauty mishaps, which I see far too often. :P

Here’s one of the BEST make-up tips I know…try it and you’ll see:

When you are buying a lipstick, test it on your FINGERTIPS, not the back of your hand. The color of your fingertips is closer to the color of your lips, so you will get a better idea of what it will look like.

Many makeup products do double duty. For instance,I have purple hair, and I like my eyebrows to match my hair.Dye doesn't last long on brows because even permanent dye can only last as long as the HAIRS last (brow hairs fall off after…2 weeks?).So what I do is I keep a supply of pencils in various purple shades. And I find that some lipsticks work well for that purpose.

I LOVE the flat eyeliner brush for blending eyebrow color. It helps prevent smearing and streaking of brow color.(And I keep a supply of eyeliner and eyeshadow brushes. The secret to shadow is all in the blending EVEN if you wear yours vivid like I do.)

If I HAD to survive with one lipstick,it would be a purple shade that could multitask as brow color, lipstick, eyeshadow AND blush.(Of course I'm a makeup junkie so I'd NEVER confine myself, lol)

Always prime your lips everytime you wear lipstick. Using a sugar scrub or damp wash cloth, rub lips to exfoliate. Wipe off. Follow up with a single layer of chapstick (my favorite is blue tube-moisturizer-with SPF 15). Apply lipstick, set with powder (or just give it a minute if glossy) and go!

she’s gorgeous! and I love her stuff. correct me if I’m wrong but I do believe you can find Lime Crime on ShanaLogic. com kind of a recent addition there hmm my tip would be more of a lesson learned type of thing. don’t go for the cheapies! I’ve found that you get what you pay for a lot of the time. this does not mean go out and buy the most expensive thing you can find however. as far as my makeup goes I go for broke with my eyes and thus draw attention away from the stuff I don’t like about my facial features. I love doing dark dramatic smoky eyes and I’ll use color whenever I’m in the mood for something different. I love sparkle so I use shadows that are shimmery but I use them sparingly so I shine just a little. that way I get drama without too much glitter

Right on about getting quality products.

This may not be a cosmetics tip per se but organic sunscreen is [insert adjective here].I grew weary with attempting to make my base makeup match my skin tone and it clots you pores as well as darkens my skin tone a few shades too many. Then came along the concept of replacing it with sunscreen it evened out my complexion, the redness and prevent more freckles!.special face daily sunblock also also makes skin silky smooth and deflects sun rays whitch is especially helpful in south florida where i reside.cosmetics is a fascinating industry!

Never sleep with your make-up on or you will wake up looking like a PANDA!
And remember to have the right tools (good brushes etc.) before experimenting too much, or you will probably get the panda result as well.

I don't know much about make-up, this is just tips for the very beginner (as in COMPLETE make-up noob), like myself xD

    Prevent tarantula lashes by:
    - wiggling the mascara brush ever-so-gently at the base of the lashes;
    - holding the mascara wand vertically and pushing it straight up (toward the ceiling) through your lashes;
    - if all else fails, separating clumps with a straight pin and a very steady hand.

Or just avoid the entire issue and use false eyelashes! Don't be afraid to trim them to me the right length for your eyelid, if you're using the strip style rather than the individuals, and gently fill in the lash line with liquid eyeliner after putting them on.

I dont *THINK* anyone's posted this tip here, but especially when using black eyeshadow, bright colours or glitter, always hold a piece of tissue under your eye to catch the excess, and stop the particles falling onto your cheeks, under-eye area or wherever.

I agree with the other comments about certain colours making your eyes pop. I have green eyes too, and using bright yellow and purple works really well. Yellow also makes aqua/green look even brighter, as in my facebook piccie (I already linked in a diff comment, but what the hey)

My tip is if you want your makeup to show up well in photos or on camera, it helps to make it darker or more vibrant than seems normal, otherwise it will barely be seen and it'll look half-heartedly done. Also, false eyelashes do wonders for making eyelashes show up on camera. (cute lolita shots, anyone?)

Whatever makeup you want to do, go all-out, and don't be shy.

  • Kelly

Another tip: If you are trying to look more masculine, apply a little darkish shadow to the inner eyebrow and a little bit down each side of the nose (blend well!!!). It makes your eyebrows look more angular.

  • Kiki

My advice it no matter what you have, how cheap, how expensive, or colours experiment.

My best ideas come from more playing around…Make-up parties are so much fun..

*Of course make sure everything is clean…it will last longer than you think..and
put certain make-up in your fridge to keep it lasting longer* ie anything creamy!!!

cuzz we all know how hard it is when you fav stuff goes bad and you can't find it again!!!

ps Love your site!!!!! Brillianto..much appreciated!!!

NEVER sleep with makeup on. It clears up your skin so much if you don't. [Trust me, I'd know!]
My favorite: If you have dark eyes, make them pop by using a magenta-colored liner [lip liner as eyeliner works too] and use a bright neon shadow. [Lime green for me!] Mascara it up, and they POP! ;D

I have two really good make-up tips that I swear by everytime I wear make up!

    1) My good friend and former MAC MUA reminds me that “eyebrows are sisters, not twins!” I used to draw my eyebrows in trying to get them to look exactly the same and would complain to him how hard it was. He said that like other double body parts (eyes, boobs, nostrils, etc) they are never exactly the same! So I should try to color them in to their own individual shape, curves and lines. I like to use Kryolan Aqua Color in Black with a thin eyeliner brush to color my eyebrows in and then use a smudger afterwards to get the color looking more natural with my eyebrow hair.

    2) Using a base on your eyelids before putting on eyeshadows or loose powders help them stick on for prolonged wear. My favorite bases are MAC paintpots which come in many different shades and Kryolan Aqua Colors. Aqua colors may be hard to use if you are not familiar with them but you simply add a few drops of water, mix it in with your brush and then pat them on your eyelids. Then, using another brush with no product on it you can blend the aqua color before applying your shadows.

If you are not familiar with Kryolan you should definitely check them out! They are a performance costume makeup brand so they are very high quality. A really cute fashion designer named Shrinkle sells them in her ebay store for cheap: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/shrinkle

i would love to leave just one tip but i bet all you girls here would appreciate any and all good make up tips!

    1) “eyebrows are sisters, not twins!” my friend who is a former MAC MUA gave me this really insightful tip after i told him how hard it was for me to color my eyebrows in exactly the same. he told me eyebrows like your other double body parts (eyes, boobs, nostrils etc) are NOT exactly the same in shape so i should focus on coloring my eyebrows in to their individual curves and lines. i also use a thin eyeliner brush to brush on my eyebrows using Kryolan Aqua Color in Black and afterwards i use a smudger to get the color to look more natural to my eyebrow hairs.

    2) using a base on your eyelids helps keeping eyeshadows and loose powders on for prolonged wear. my favorite bases are MAC’s paintpots which come in multiple colors and shades and Kryolan Aqua Colors. When you apply the Kryolan Aqua Colors they may look really heavy when you first apply but you should just blend them outwards and when you cover them with your eyeshadows and blend them in they will look sweet :)

You can buy Kryolan from this really awesome fashion designer Shrinkle from her eBay store for REALLY CHEAP TOO! Kryolan is a performance and costume makeup brand so the quality of their makeup is very high: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/shrinkle
