LA CARMINA ONLINE STORE NOW OPEN! BUY DESIGNER LADIES OUTERWEAR, JAPANESE GOTHIC LOLITA COATS & JACKETS.
Did I promise you an announcement of elephantine proportions? I did, I did! Could it be? At last? It IS!
LA CARMINA ONLINE STORE IS NOW OPEN!
LA CARMINA is “seasonless fashion outerwear for modern Marie Antoinettes” – high-quality coats inspired by Tokyo Gothic Lolita and Tim Burton films. Design signatures include light fabrics, asymmetrical collars, rows of silver buttons, corset lacing, tiered bell skirts, and gathered shoulders.
I’m now taking pre-orders for the coats, meaning that they’ll be at your doorstep in mid to late June. I’m also selling wholesale to boutiques and online retailers all over the world; buyers, click here to learn how to place an order.
† How do I place an individual order?
Hop over to the online store, select your desired style / color / size, and check out using PayPal. For detailed ordering instructions, click here.
† How did you arrive at the cost ($220 US)?
To me, Gothic Lolita is synonymous with the finest fabrics, construction, and design details. I will not produce anything of lesser quality than your favorite Japanese brands (ie. Algonquins and Angelic Pretty). Since I am an independent designer, I’ve priced my coats very reasonably for my market range (cf. Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B or Juicy Couture).
† Where and how are coats made?
The La Carmina fashion line is made in a small factory in Hong Kong, which specializes in Gothic Lolita and Visual Kei garments. In fact, this company makes a certain brand often seen in Kera / GL Bible… (but my lips are sealed!) The production meets or exceeds industry standards and is closely supervised by my agents in Hong Kong.
† Why did it take you a while to launch the store?
For the past 6 months, I’ve been tasked with delivering 2 books to my publishers. My work involved moving to Tokyo for 3 months, shooting several dozen theme restaurants, conceptualizing and cooking and photographing 100 cute recipes, and drawing just as many kawaii illustrations on Adobe Illustrator. Oh, and the near-daily blogging? I didn’t want to let you down on any of these fronts, so I took a mini hiatus from the clothing line. Now, I’m able to devote 100% of my effort to it – and I promise I will.
Thank you, my darklings, for making the online shop possible! Please feel free to ask me any questions or leave feedback in the comments. Also, can you recommend any boutiques that might be interested in my fashion line? Let me know – I’m keen to sell internationally! (Wholesale info here.)
