DANDY VICTORIAN GLASSES FROM ITALY: FAOFLEX RETRO & GOTHIC LOLITA EYEWEAR.

Round Woody Allen glasses, retro Victorian eyeglasses, eyewear. Gothic Lolita headdress with lace and ruffles, pink hair in braids.

Faoflex, an Italian eyewear company featured in Vogue, is releasing a Dandy’s Collection of retro glasses – which includes a pair called “Gothic Lolita.” I received a few styles to try out. My outfit concept: Wednesday Addams meets I.M. Pei.

Retro cat eye glasses, fabulous sexy vintage eyewear. Asian Japanese glasses, Goth headdress, pink purple dyed hair in two braided pigtails.

Like the Spec Espace glasses I recently got, Faoflex’s acetate frames are sturdy but light. Their 1950s cat-eye style is flirty and fun.

Two braids, Wednesday Addams hair on Japanese Goth girl. Cute glasses and sunglasses from Faoflex, Italy, Dandy's collection.

I love how black the frames are; can’t you imagine me playing cards in a Victorian parlor? Dapper as sunglasses may be, they don’t quite jive with Elegant Gothic Aristocrat… I guess nothing beats a parasol!

Hot librarian 1950s pin up girl glasses, retro cat eye frames eyewear from Italy. Cute Asian girl in glasses

Which style of glasses is your favorite? I must confess I like them all! It’s rare for me to find one pair of specs that fits well, let alone several in diverse styles. You can find out more about the Dandy’s eyewear collection on the Faoflex website, or email info@faoflex.it

Anya Hindmarch long ladie's designer coat, London. Cute cat with bunny mask, Easter lolcat kitty. Long retro vintage Victorian coat, Goth Japanese jacket.

Happy belated Easter from me and Basil Farrow! My Scottish Fold kitty wanted to do a bunny cosplay, so I bought him a dollar store mask…

Coat: Anya Hindmarch, London.
Lace headdress: handmade by yours truly

  • Although contact lenses, bifocal ones, for example, are more comfortable and better looking, there still are people loving to wear glasses, who won't give them up.
  • This eyeglasses are out of fashion. If you ask me, contact lenses are the future of this industry.
  • I don't agree. Although, indeed, bifocal contacts are very useful, some people still prefer wearing glasses, because this is the way they were used or raised.
  • I've given up eye glasses in favor of contact lenses and I am very satisfied with my decision. I would recommend this to you as well.
  • While stock eyewear frames will work for most people who need or want eyeglasses, personally, I want more. More colors, retro designs, or even just something extra special or that has meaning for me.
  • I'm into eyewear only when sports is in discussion.Your eyewear needs to fit your game, not the other way around. Whether it’s sunglasses, prescription eyewear, safety goggles or other eye protection, action eyewear needs to fit the criteria of your game.
  • Dear sunglasses spammers, please cease and desist. Thank you.

(The last few comments were obviously from sunglasses retailers ... don't click on their names.)
  • These glasses frames are really out of fashion, I don't like them at all..
  • Interesting pictures and interesting glasses. Not my type, tough.
  • Personally, I don't like these sunglasses, although I can see they are very popular..
  • Wow, i like red hairs and sunglasses combination.
  • Eyewear is not just about improving your vision or protecting your eyes any more. These days, eyeglasses and sunglasses are often purchased as wardrobe accessories rather than as necessities and designer eyewear in particular is all about style and high fashion.
  • These glasses are very nice, but if you want quality sunglasses or eye glasses, buy a pair of Italian ones. Prada, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, are the most famous brands in what eye wear is concerned.
  • It depends what you are looking for.... many girls who love alternative/Gothic style don't want mainstream designer brands. We want something that stands out!
  • Wow ha, you have alot of sunglasses but only one is cool for me it's the black one. by the way I love your cat it's cute and naughty haha.
  • As we can see, nowadays, eyewear is not about eyeglasses anymore, but about sunglasses. Everyone has a pair of sunglasses, especially girls, and not any pair of sunglasses, but fashionable ones.

I think I like the sort of cat shaped ones the best

Aaawww ! I'm in love with the 50's-styled ones ♥♥
  • The 50s ones would look cute on you!
  • Trucydae
    You think so ?
    I should try them x) !
  • Brandi
i like the square ones best

You wear glasses too?? I really love the Spec Espace glasses. ^_^ They have a sort of delicate look to them that seems very girly. (Of course, I'm a sucker for the too-girly-for-most-people-to-actually-consider-wearing clothes.) ^^
  • When I saw those Spec Espace glasses, I had to get them! The store owners are really awesome and sent them to me fast. I'm going to wear these to the grave!

(and yes, I'm as blind as a bat)...
  • Cute!

I think my favorites are the roundish-pair at the top (and in the third set of pictures), and the square ones in the fourth (the glasses i occasionally wear when not in contacts have a square shape like that, though aren't as big).

The cat-eye ones make me think of a '50s era librarian (or something similar).

Is it possible to have prescriptions put in them?

I think one of my favorite pairs of glasses that I've seen where the ones that Leanne Marshall wore on the last season of Project Runway. They were large frames, but they looked so cute on her, and made me think, "If I ever need new glasses, I want those."
  • Yup, you can put prescriptions in any of these.

The cat-eye librarian look is usually too over-the-top-retro-kitsch for me, so I liked how these ones kept it subtle. :)

the shhhhh ones look best on you ^-^
  • I like the first ones ^_^ they look ausome!!!!!!!!
  • Kristin P.
I would say the shaded in ones look the best, depending on where you are, otherwise the square ones (right of the last set where you are 'shhh'ing) Looks fine. I'm not quite sure, but the circled ones just don't do you justice.
