MY CUTE DECORATED LAPTOP, KAWAII STICKERS, SONY DSLR-700 CAMERA AND HANDYCAM.

Cool decorated laptop, Japanese cute kawaii stickers laptop decoration. Graffiti art, awesome computer and notebook cover.

What are La Carmina’s tools of the trade? You caught a glimpse of my laptop in the last episode of Death Cookbook; it’s a Sony VAIO that has been given the Rococo treatment!

I picked up most of the stickers from Magic Trade Show in Las Vegas a few years back. Like all conventions, the experience was akin to trick-or-treat; thousands of clothing companies set up booths and handed out trinkets to attract browsers. This laptop has voyaged with me to Tokyo and is frequently sat on by Basil Farrow – but amazingly, the decals adhere!

On the right, you can see the unlined notebook I used to conceptualize my two upcoming books. Once again, the stickers were free; I got them from the Tokyo Design Festa and various Gothic Lolita Punk designers.

Sony DSLR 700 digital camera, professional digicam, giant lens and large black camera.

My professional camera is a Sony DSLR-700, which I pair with Minolta lenses from the pre-digital era. Highly recommended, but with a warning: the high image quality will turn you away from point-and-shoots for good. Or in the words of Jerry Seinfeld, you can’t fly coach after being in first class!

Sony Handycam video camera or camcorder, HDD 80 gb, zoom and photos. Japanese girl with cell phone, wrapped mummy bandages and long fingernails.

I recently picked up a Sony Handycam to shoot digital videos (can you tell that I’m a Sony fan?). 80 GB of memory and purse-ready – you can’t go wrong with that.

What type of software do I use with my electro-gizmos? Carmina hearts Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere). I worship my Sony trinity (my work depends on it), but I’m not a cell phone or iPod buff… in fact, I don’t even own a portable music player!

Vintage clothing blog, indie fashion designers website. Cute clothes, coats and jackets from Canadian brand, La Carmina.

Shout-out to Cath of Allchic.com for writing about my clothing line on her site (above)! More interviews on the way…

What type of tech-equip do you use? Do you cute-ify your gizmos like I do?

    I don't cute-ify my gadgets, but I should!

Love your laptop – I want those stickers!! LOL

  • http://www.lacarmina.com lacarmina

It's an infectuous way to personalize your cold metal gadgets! Basil's grandma was inspired to cover her laptop with family photos and souvenirs.

You can buy laptop skins online too – like at http://www.gelaskins.com/ – but I think it's more fun to DIY!

Great laptop! <3 Your blogs are always inspiring!

I have a Gateway laptop from '07. It works well for what I use it for. My camera is a cheap-ish Kodak thing (7 megapixels?); I'm not huge into taking pictures so the quality I get is fine for me. Plus, it was a graduation gift (as was the computer)! My grandfather uses a nice digital one with a lens like yours, and those pictures always look nice. My mp3 player is an older 8 GB Creative Zen Microphoto. I've had a good run with it, and though it's messed up a few times I've always been able to repair it myself. And it's chunky so it's more likely to survive being dropped.
None of these thing's are decorated though.
I do decorate my DS Lite a bit. Right now it has the lotus flower from Nana in the middle and silver stars in the corners.

I like how your stuff is decorated! The stickers are cute.

I have a pink Sony VAIO, a red Nikon camera :), my cell phone of course, and iPod

  • http://www.lacarmina.com lacarmina

Ahhh I've never had the desire for a DS either… I think it's because I was never much of a gamer. Lotus and stars – very cute!

I didn't know the VAIO came in pink!

omg how do you survive without an Mp3???!:) mine is pink, as is my phone, but its a cheap-ass Zen stone because i cant be trusted with precious Ipods, they always seem to break. also, yay for Vaios!! i still dont quite get the whole Macbook frenzything, yes theyre nice and shiny and less virus-prone, but.. well, more to the point, its deocrated with a 'Hand Knitted' sticker (!), and these amazing keyboard stickers, one for each letter + the spacebar etc, that i got in Camden market. theyre japanese, ostensibly, an each one has a little kawaii character like a smily-faced doughnut or a pudding-faced cat:) i also make little cake charms out of clay to hang off my gadgets, and they re encrusted with stickers and cheap diamante and stuff

It's funny – as you know, I'm a tad OCD about creating things… I'm terrible at listening to music or watching movies or buying clothes; I'd rather make them!

I also don't “get” the Mac addiction (funny how a lot of people here use Vaios!) Part of it is because the software I used was always for PCs… but yeah, I've never had any compelling reason to leave the PC world.

Ah luxlux, I want to see pictures of these keyboard stickers you are talking about! And I love Camden market! Its such a great place to find everything I need. =)

That Handycam looks really cool. I might have to get one. I'm only a half Mac addict. I adore my Macbook, but I don't own an iPod (or any MP3 player) and I prefer Blackberry to the iPhone. My phone is a Storm and I find it really easy to use and incredibly convenient when I'm out reporting and need to look up something online. My camera is a Canon PowerShot A720, which takes pretty good shots for being a non-professional camera.

  • [kawaii]™

aww soooo very cuuuuute!!! sony is also my favorite brand :]

  • http://www.lacarmina.com lacarmina

I always felt like the only Sony fan among a sea of Mac/Canon camera addicts… nice to have company!

  • Dragonswyng

I love my Mac but I'm a long time Sony lover. most of my home entertainment stuff is Sony products. as far as cameras the only one we currently have going is a little Sony cyber shot. but its remarkable easy to use and takes pretty good pix and video. for the money I feel we got a great camera. it belongs to my daughter and has enough features to keep her busy but not so many that she gets overwhelmed with her first camera ya know.

Wow, Carmina! You did a nice job of packing all those different stickers into that crowded space! (on your laptop). You got the “design knack!” You go, goth girl! :-).

Aww man D: I want those stickers! Do you know where I can get ones that are like that? Not the same exact ones, but ones that can be suggested..?
I actually hate my mobile right now, so I'm getting a new one when I get enough money for an AnyCall phone from Korea xD unlocked

  • http://www.lacarmina.com lacarmina

Ahh I got those a Tokyu Hands… there should be places online where you can buy cute Japanese stickers?

Good product. Very snug and easy to fit. As described, adds extra style, and laptop definitely feels protected from scrapes and bumps.
