GOTHLOLI OF THE WEEK #77: LULU. FILM OF THE WEEK: FELLINI'S SATYRICON.

† Name: Lulu
† Age: 18
† Location: Small small village in southern Germany ^^
† How were you introduced to Gothic Lolita fashion?
I was introduced to Gothic Lolita fashion by the fantastic Mana-sama. In the beginning I was a huge Manga and Anime Fan, and from magazines I was introduced to Visual Kei and J-Rock… and finally through Mana-sama’s music I discovered his and then other Gothic Lolita brands. ^^
† What do you find appealing about GL style and culture?
I totally love the “historic” character of this style and it’s just an amazing feeling to wear all those ruffles and lace. I also like the chasm between the innocent little girl and this very dark and also a bit evil side. ^-^
† What are your favorite GL clothing brands?
Of course Moi-meme-Moitie, Mary Magdalene, h.NAOTO.
† Any other comments (inspiration, tips, favorites)?
Just be yourself and be confident enough to show your personality even when everyone is against you!! No one should be bound to all those “normal” fashion trends, and no one should be segregated for his or her clothing style!! Unfortunately not many think the same. -.-

Film of the Week #25: Satyricon (dir. Federico Fellini). Feverish dreams of human gluttony, cruelty, and pleasure in the time of Emperor Nero. This movie is enthralling… to me, at least. The makeup: blue skin and gold-tinted eyebrows (a look I want to replicate). The hair: gold clasps in Ethiopian braids. The set design: crumbling Roman mausoleums and dens of sin. The cinematography: as you can see above, every frame is a masterwork. And the film is rather, um, yaoi if you get my drift…
