NYAPPY NEW YEAR! AKEMASHITE OMEDETOU GOZAIMASU! NEW SCOTTISH FOLD VIDEO, CUTE YUMMY TIME BENTO RECIPES CREATED BY LA CARMINA’S READERS.

As Miku (lead singer of An Cafe) would say, “Nyappy New Year!” And as everyone else in Japan would say, “Akemashite omedetou gozaimasu!”

Let’s kick off the New Year with a double-dose of cuteness. I’ve uploaded a zillion new photos of my Scottish Fold, Basil Farrow, on his Facebook. Add him here to see the latest album and more!

For cute manga-style stories about my kitty, check out and subscribe to his blog (updated every other day.)

Tomorrow, I’ll reveal big-big-big news about my plans for 2010. What are your goals for this year? Are you excited about anything on the horizon? I certainly am — this is going to be a huge year!

Thank you to everyone who bought Cute Yummy Time and sent me photos of the recipes they made! Siouxsie Law built a coffin tiramisu — it looks deadly delicious. The stylish Gari Ouji threw a Cute Yummy Time birthday party, where the guests made food inspired by my cookbook — what a great idea! Finally, Meg Tweeted to me: “Looook!! I made a baby bird egg salad wrap like @lacarmina !! Best cookbook ever. I love the book, got it for Xmas & can’t wait to try everything out! So kawaii!!” If you’re interested in finding out more about the book, click here.
Gotta get glammed up for a New Year’s party; yes, I’ll have photos of my Kozi-inspired outfit. I leave you with a new Basil Farrow video: my eternal kitten demands to be carried and jumps on his Hexbug insect toy.

I have a lot of plans for 2010. They mostly involve school, but there's cooking in there as well. I try to improve on that all the time. (taste as well as presentation) I would hate to be one of those mothers who killed the turkey dinner, or made food so discusting that the child tried to give it to the dog and the dog wouldn't eat it. :3 So I discovered you the other day, and you're amazing!! Bought Cute Yummy Time, and not only is it brilliant, but it gave me lots of ideas too… Once I get them perfect I'll show you.
I was always the kid who wouldn't eat meat, and being diabetic never helped with eating either. I would have to sit at the dinner table till bed time because I wouldn't eat food. Making your food art is a great Idea for kids, and involving them in making it, even better.
:D Just thought I would tell you. <3
Have a nice day, I'm sure I'll be posting again. <3 > ' . ' <

Thanks for putting up the photos and calling me “stylish”. I know some people who would beg to differ (but they're learning to accept their crazy goth-punk-ouji kei friend/relative :D). My friends were thrilled to see their work get featured.
As for my plans for the new year, I want to be independent again. Being on my own for the first and in Japan on top of it took its toll on me, but now I'm recharged, employed again, and ready for whatever the world throws at me. Oh, and there will definitely be more cooking.
