TOKYO FASHION STORE PHOTOS: GOTH SWEET LOLITA PUNK & FAIRY KEI BOUTIQUES IN LAFORET, HARAJUKU. NILE PERCH, SEXY DYNAMITE LONDON, H.NAOTO.

It’s a good thing that all of you love Fairy Kei fashion — because girly 1980s pastels are taking over the streets! A new accessories store, B Be Bee, recently opened in Laforet Harajuku; it’s filled with airy fairy headbands, heart-dangle bracelets and other cute accents. Doesn’t the blue-haired mannequin remind you of DJ Kanon?

The Nile Perch fairy kei store was packed (it’s also in the basement of Laforet). Who can resist baby girl pop and lovery? Here are more photos of the boutique.

Laforet’s basement seems to be veering away from traditional Gothic Lolita, in favor of other Harajuku styles. In October, punk plaid took center stage.

h.NAOTO’s dresses, however, continue to impress. If I could only wear one brand for the rest of my life, it could very well be this one. One day, I’ll pick up one of these $220-350 beauties…

I’m a fan of Sexy Dynamite London’s bright red hats and punk jackets. What do you think of the evolution of these brands? Any predictions for future trends?

(Many more Gothic Lolita Punk store photos are posted in my Shopping Guide. LA coverage begins tomorrow… watch out!)

I really like your article… you do a really nice job! Have you ever thought of applying to be an international shopping consultant? I know that my friend's company, LetsBuyIt.com, is looking for one for next year… you'd be perfect for it if that's what you're into… they need someone to travel to 7 countries (expenses included) and take notes on the shopping cultures in each place… from hat I can see you'd be perfect! If you just google the position name and company, it should pop right up, its pretty well known/competitive…

I think you might be right on. I just got a ridiculous 1950s hat with a giant bow haaha. Loving the era.

Oh wow, what a gig! I think I can't be tied down to a position like this, however… it takes up all your time commitment and I have some excellent things brewing at the moment… Let's hope 2010 is a good year!

All is just so pretty! Hehe how much money do you think I should take for my first trip to Japan? lol

The ultimate heaven. I'm contemplating buying an h.NAOTO piece soon. I've been of fan for years, just never had the cash to do it.

B Be Bee looks kinda nifty =)
but my style swings to the more h.NAOTO & Sexy Dynamite London… I like that red jacket in the sexy Dynamite store!

Hahah bring a lot!! In a way, it's worth the money for the value; once you've flown to Japan, the clothes aren't prohibitively expensive (especially at places like Closet Child).

    lacarmina says:

oooh, which one are you thinking of buying? I can vouch that the quality is stunning and you won't get tired of the piece…

i'm hoping the styles and collections will maintain their goth themes and are just expanding to different styles -not moving away from it. if i can pick one style brand, h.naoto sixh. is my choice.

as a parallel in the west, cyberdog uk moved away from their first styles in dark clothing, which has become less appealing for many here.

I know… it's discouraging that the Moi meme Moitie shop in Marui One closed down (now, the brand is sold only on 1 rack in the store). The Goth club scene is going strong, but the fashion may be becoming less prominent in the stores… ;__l

    Ayame says:

I agree. After so many years of being in the EGL scene, I realised that it's beginning to step down a little and Punk is starting to take the stage now, but I can see that some are starting to mix a few genres together and it actually looks good :D

I'd probably wear h.NAOTO too if price wasn't an issue. Or any of the S-inc brands really. I never thought my mother and I would agree on a style, but she loves h.NAOTO Blood and gouk. I'm also a big fan of Putumayo.

h.NAOTO is liked by a lot of my friends^^
One of the friend like FRILL series very much.

Haha…I'm not really sure just yet, to be honest. There was a jacket I was looking at awhile back, but I need more pants/skirts. We'll see. Definitely can't go wrong with anything either way.

Funny — my mother also likes the Japanese Gothic brands because the clothes are well made (and that's what matters to her). My “emo boy” top is by h.NAOTO Blood — love it. http://www.lacarmina.com/blog/2009/11/film-stil...

I'm kinda new to the Japanese fashion scene so you'd understand how I've never heard of h.NAOTO. But that won't stop me from admiring their dresses. They look so yummy!

    shichi says:

I could be wrong but it seemed like the Moi Meme Moitie line wasn't really evolving to stay relevant. The next decade's Gothic Aristocrat and Gothic Lolita could be the brighter colors that Alice and the Pirates is promoting through Versailles. Actually the fact that we can even talk about GA/GL entering a third decade is impressive. Fashions never last that long.

But I'm most fond of Sexy Dynamite London more than h.NAOTO… I do love h.NAOTO but SDL is more… sophisticated… to me at least (I still like h.Naoto though ^^)

Oh Laforet how I love you, but how expensive you are compared to other stores in Harajuku. I wish I could actually ever have the patients to save up and be able to buy at these stores but I always get sucked into the cheapness of others
