Jingu is a pedestrian bridge that connects Harajuku to Yoyogi Park / Meiji Shrine. On Sundays especially, you’ll see cosplayers, Gothic Lolitas and other alt-styled youths congregating here.

The bridge isn’t as busy as it was in the old days of Harajuku “pedestrian heaven,” but it remains a marvelous spot to see and be seen.

What better place to be inspired before shopping for Gothic Lolita Punk clothes in Harajuku? (Maps and a store guide for your reference.)

Many of the teens bring food and hang out here all day. Most ignore the swarm of tourists that snap photos of the action.

Tsk I wish I could go >_> But dude, I don’t think it matters what it used to be or what it is now, so long as there are still the same people you saw years ago lol.
Even if only a few people were to go there, I still want to go there.

I have the worst luck when it comes to people-watching/photo opps at Jingu-bashi. The first two times I visited Harajuku weren’t Sunday (though I did spot a couple GazettE cosplayers). The third time, I had scheduled my Tokyo trip to where I could go on a Sunday, and it rained (and I had dressed up too T_T). Then I went to LaForet and discovered that it was where the Lolis, rockers, and goths go afterward. ^^

It’s generally unimpressive, nowadays… <__< . Not really the "in" thing to do, ahah. You'll probably see better dressed people shopping around Harajuku.

You can send a RSVP to rsvp@midnightmess.com or maya@midnightmess.com — just tell her your name and you’ll be on the discounted list. It’s best to wear at least Gothic/black clothing, but anything goes if it’s theatrical! More info in the club guide section of my site, including a video about how to get there and what to expect. xx
