RIDICULOUS STORE: AMERIKAMURA & SHINSAIBASHI VINTAGE SHOPPING, OSAKA'S HARAJUKU STREET STYLE. WEIRD JAPAN LOVE HOTEL.

RIDICULOUS STORE: AMERIKAMURA & SHINSAIBASHI SHOPPING, OSAKA'S HARAJUKU. WEIRD JAPAN LOVE HOTEL, store guide, women's clothing osaka, shopping map, funny love hotel exterior

Yukiro and I had a ridiculous time in Osaka! Here I am in a ridiculous outfit, kissing one of the four big-head statues outside a Shinsaibashi love hotel. (Remember my bizarre photos of Tokyo love hotels?)

takoyaki costume in osaka, funny cosplay, crazy japanese man wearing octopus mask, RIDICULOUS STORE: AMERIKAMURA & SHINSAIBASHI SHOPPING, OSAKA'S HARAJUKU. WEIRD JAPAN LOVE HOTEL, store guide, women's clothing osaka, shopping map, eating from takoyaki food stall

Shinsaibashi is the number one district to encounter random ridiculousness. How about Yukiro molesting a man in a takoyaki hat…

However, the award for “Most Ridiculous Store in Osaka” goes to… Ridiculous in Amerikamura. Point one: the shop mascot is an immense blue monster with blood trailing from its eyes and mouth.

Point two: Ridiculous is run by a ridiculous fellow with hair all over his face and an infestation of piercings. (Note the subdermal circle implant in his hand in the last photo.)

Point three: the shop is painted neon pink and blue, and the floor is made up of staggered levels that make it impossible to walk without tripping.

Point four: Swinging from the racks are ridiculous 1980s secondhand trash (or treasures), such as a witch’s hat, Robocop sunglasses and Toni Basil rejects from the 1980s.

And the prices? Absolutely ridiculous! Yukiro found a ridiculously short black and white dress for 2000 yen ($20), which you’ll see in upcoming photos…

The Ridiculous store owner insisted on taking photos — and the following day, we ran into him at DJ Taiki’s Black Veil Goth party! I say there’s only one word to describe that, and it begins with an R…

More photos from occult and Lolita stores in the same building coming up ASAP. What’s the most ridiculous clothing boutique you’ve ever stepped into?

Japanese Word of the Day: Matomo ja nai = Ridiculous
Song of the Day: Pentagram – Sign of the Wolf (is there anything more ridiculous than 1970s doom metal?)

    1. That store looks AWESOME.
    2. Subdermal implants give me the heebie jeebies. Just thinking about something stuck permanently under my skin makes me twitch/shudder. But it looks pretty cool.

We touched the implant… and the French TV shoot featured a segment where people got saline drips into their foreheads, creating “donuts”… ahhh@

…what made me think of Harry Potter automatically when I read this blog?hmm…OH BOY now I know. There’s that spell called in Harry Potter with a spell known as “Ridiculous/Ridikulus.” And then YOU had to go and decide that morning to complete your outfit with a Sorceress’ hat. But hey I actually like it! ^_^And is that…ALICE? (4th picture)….”the….ALICE?” from Wonderland? Carrying a piggy in a bonnet? Now that certainly is ridiculous…course it’d be evenmore ridiculous if the pig had wings…and if the Madhatter showed up…-oh waitthere he is on your Facebook fan list! Gotta love how everything connects – andthat’s certainly not ridiculous. But unfortunately I shall no longer be visiting this blog. “But that’s RIDICULOUS!” Haha it is…but I won’t be able to look at anything for 6-7 weeks…very sadly. SinceI’m going on a tour of Singapore and India! I’ll be constantly on the move…I most likelywon’t see anymore gothic lolita fashion for some time…but I guess I’ll see some fashion mainlyin India. But I certainly wish you the best of luck – kiotsukete!
