JASMINE YOU, BASSIST OF VISUAL KEI BAND VERSAILLES, HAS DIED.

Jasmine You, Versailles Visual Kei bassist, bass guitar player in J-rock band, died. Tokyo Japan rock star, Aristocrat Symphony Rose, noble, Hizaki.

Jasmine You (bassist of Visual Kei band Versailles) has been in my thoughts ever since I heard he was in ill health. Earlier today, I received sad news… according to the Versailles official website, Jasmine You has passed away. The urgent bulletin states that the as soon as his family is notified, more details will be reported to fans. Understandably, Versailles’ touring and recording activities will be postponed for the time being.

Jasmine You, Versailles philharmonic quintet, Visual Kei bassist, bass guitar player in J-rock band, died. Tokyo Japan rock star, Aristocrat Symphony Rose, noble, Hizaki.

I’m crushed. I saw Jasmine You perform last October at Shibuya-O-West (concert report here) – and his stage presence was mesmerizing; Jasmine was the picture of grace. A few of my friends knew him personally and always said he was a gentle soul. Big hugs all around; let’s keep his family and friends in our thoughts during this devastating time.

Have you seen Versailles in concert? What are your favorite memories of Jasmine You?

    My favorite memory of Jasmine?

The first time I met him, he was in a bath towel in the hallway at Sunphonix Hall in Yokohama. The rest of the band was in the changing room, but he was chilling outside the door fiddling with his bass. I'm looking for Kojima, their manager, to see which part of the set I'm allowed to photograph and out of no where he starts testing out his English on me. Kojima found me and pulled me away to talk about the show before I could test out my rudimentary Japanese on him in return, and I always said to myself next time I see him, I'm going to ask him the same questions in Japanese. When I interviewed the band in NYC some time later, I didn't get the chance, I figured there would be a next time. Now…there isn't…

He was such a nice guy, that's true… I once commented on his old blog and got replied via an email saying that it was cool that my blog was talking about VK even though it was in french and that he did understand a thing of what I've said….
    I'm glad I kept those emails ;_;

I saw them at AKon 2008.
I was in the autograph line getting a flyer from hide memorial summit signed for a friend from Singapore.
When I'm nervous my Japanese goes to bunk, so I said, (obviously in English) “What's up?!”
And, Jasmine You smiled then reached up to touch his hairpiece.
I think about it now and it still makes me laugh.

I'm currently suffering from some form of shock….my mind is refusing to accept that such an event has happened…I keep on repeating “No! NO!!” over and over to myself and….I'm lost.

I'm…just crying at the moment….my family thinks something's wrong with me…but I just can't accept the fact that Jasmine You has died….at least not yet. As I stare at the posters of Versailles that hang on my wall, I burst into even more tears, realizing that one of our most precious roses has left us…..so I look away.

My mind flashes to the time when I shook hands with Jasmine at A-kon….every movement was precise and graceful, and he took my hand with a gentle graceful force and shook it, saying the words “Thank you”. His presence, his actions, his appearance…I want to remember Jasmine You that way.

    Goodbye….Jasmine You….

When I first heard Versailles' music, I quickly wanted to cover the bass lines. I did and it definitely improved my skills. Thank you Jasmine You, you were truly magical.

i regret never being to a Versailles live, i never got the chance…
    they never came to thailand…
and now it might be too late TT^TT

it just feels so strange, out of no where there was this news about jasmine you, and i read somewhere that the illness he had was common and cureable, so this was a real suprise…

i already miss him soo much….
he was so elegant and such a skilled bassist
and i heard he was a very nice guy…

Well I never seen Versailles live, only on posted youtube movies (it's not real, I know). It's hard to understand that a young person dies. When I was young I always thought that dying was something for older people. But I don't believe that anymore after I saw young people around me die. Also the death of bassist Jasmine You is a big example that it's unfortunaly not only for old people.

    Jasmine You rest in peace!

I remember when I met/saw him at A-kon in 2008. Even sitting behind the table for autographs he was so elegant. The way he signed things, the way he smiled and daintily shook your hand. it was all so graceful and like everything had a meaning to him, especially when the fans thanked him. It's impossible NOT to love him. He's definitely going to be missed and we're all going to cry… but Jasu wouldn't want his precious fans to cry. We gotta put smiles on our faces and just keep his memory alive in our hearts. <3 He's gonna keep his eyes on all of us from the other side until we can all meet again in the future, that I'm sure of.

I saw Versailles when they played in concert @ the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, CA. Me, my brother, and my best friend were so saddened when we heard the news yesterday. We had such a great time seeing him perform. He was so beautiful and talented. At the concert, he came over to me and my group where we standing to the side of the stage in a corner and blew kisses at us, waved, and did a little curtsy. He was so nice and sweet, I will truly miss him *a tear*

I every time thought that he might be the most attractive member of versailles when he is not completely styled-up.

I remember learning the news of Jasmine You being in poor health, and I remember wishing he would get better, and I thought I knew he would. I thought to myself, “He'll be better soon. There's nothing to worry about.” A few days later, I was with family and received a text from my friend telling me Jasmine had passed on. I went into a state of shock and couldn't believe it. I refused to, and still do a little. My mom kept asking me what was wrong, because I had burst into tears. I just ran to my room and went to the website.

Even now, after all this time, after seeing this, after seeing the website, after talking about other fans about this great loss, I still cant believe that a rose has withered and gone to a better place.

I've been listening to their music over and over again, and watching interviews, and every time I see him, I can't help but start crying.

I think back now to A-kon 2008 and how excited I was to be in the second row of bodies, crushed in front, with all of Versailles in front of me. Jasmine You was absolutely amazing on stage. It was my first concert, and my second con. I remember waking up at 7am to be one of the firsts in line for the autographing the next morning after staying up until 2am. When the band walked before all of us anxious, awaiting fans, it was a breath taking, heart stopping moment. Jasmine You looked so elegant, graceful, and beautiful. It was hard to believe that when I shook his hand and foolishly said “hello” in English out of my nervousness, after repeating in my head to speak in Japanese, that he smiled so warmly, shook my hand softly, and said “hello” and “Thank you” right back in English. I wanted to faint… -laughs softly to self-

It's just so hard to believe that he's gone now…. I almost refuse to accept it…. Hopefully this Sunday when me and some friends get together for a make-shift service, it will help us all.

Also, if anyone would like to join us, we are holding it in Zilker Park, Austin, Texas starting at 3pm. It's something purely for the fans, by the fans, to celebrate Jasmine You's life and memory.

I remember learning the news of Jasmine You being in poor health, and I remember wishing he would get better, and I thought I knew he would. I thought to myself, “He’ll be better soon. There’s nothing to worry about.” A few days later, I was with family and received a text from my friend telling me Jasmine had passed on. I went into a state of shock and couldn’t believe it.

I’ve been listening to their music over and over again, and watching interviews, and every time I see him, I can’t help but start crying.

T__T I saw news the morning he died and I was notified by my friend as soon as I got off work. I was so sad, I was very depressed and couldn't focus on my work for 2 days >_> I'm still melancholy about it but I do feel that he is with us in spirit. He is still the beautiful rose that we all knew and loved him for (and still do).
However, I unfortunately live in the US and was not able to see him live during the rare occasion.
I did, however, make a tribute video for him and posted it on YouTube the day he died. But it didn't go through until a little after 12 AM, so the date posted says August 9th.

I wish I had seen this band live. I have been in love with their music since I first heard “the Revenant Choir”, which not only remains to be one of my favorite songs, but I find it has a new meaning… and is now so much clearer. Jasmine was one of my favorite musicians, and his death breaks my heart. I'm repainting my room, and I was going to go with a purple-silver-black color scheme anyways. Now, I will decorate with roses as well.

“Without you [You?], will be gone… far away.”
My prayers to his family and remaining band members. Jasmine You still holds a special spot in my heart and will not easily be forgotten. He had a special feeling towards his fans, and I think that little love will be amplified back to him, where ever he may be now.

It's only today that i've known he died.
Versailles is one of my favourite band and even my mom like there music and jasmine is her fav. she's always telling how elegant he is,etc..

I've never been to there concert as i am from mauritius but i have always told myself that one day i'll travel and go to one of there concert to be able to see jasmine in real as well as the rest of the band but now i know it will never happen.

It's been so long since i last listen to there song, so today i thought i'll see one of there vid on youtube but what i saw was something totally different.
I didn't expect that and i still can't accept it.
    It just feel so sudden.
I can't even cry, am just too shocked.

I still can't believe that after all of this, he had to die like this.

All i can say right now is that he will be dearly missed and will forever stay in our heart.

But i still can't believe that he is gone.
    Love you.
    Rest in piece.
