7TH FLOOR OF MARUI IS SHOE HEAVEN: GOTHIC LOLITA PUNK BOOTS, LEATHER SHOES.

If you have 24 hours left to live and St. Peter’s barred you from the gates, get thee to the seventh floor of Marui Young post-haste. You can have at least gone to shoe heaven… and then died.

The shoe selection at NYC’s Trash & Vaudeville looks like purgatory compared to MaruiOne. Leche by Yosuke dominated the Lolita racks with cute-meets-Victorian Mary Janes and lace-up stompers. (I bought ankle boots for about $75). Antenna, UK Underground, Doc Martens, and skull-printed hi-top sneakers were also kicking it.

Woman cannot live on shoes alone. Algonquins rounds out this floor…

…with studded butterfly purses and New Wave influences.

I put on a Peace Now scarf with a goblin’s head at one end; the store clerk placed a matching devil-horned hoody-hat on my head. I didn’t dare try on a gorgeous pair of Black Peace Now studded knee-boots, which had pointed toes and were wrapped with thin leather strips. (They were around $200.)

h.NAOTO’s Sixh delivered flowing Goth menswear.
Tomorrow, I’ll post TEN photos from the Sweet Lolita shops on the eighth floor… including Metamorphose, Angelic Pretty, and Baby the Stars Shine Bright!
