GRAMM COLLECTION FROM S-INC, H.NAOTO. ROCOCO GOTH RETRO COUTURE, FADED ASYMMETRICAL LACE PASTEL GARMENTS AT MARUIONE, ロリータ・ファッション.

The MaruiOne summer sale is still on. Today, I got a short Marble jacket with ridiculous poofy sleeves, straight out of Interview with the Vampire. Marked down from $130 to $100 – not bad!
I’m intrigued by Gramm, a new brand from S-inc (the company that produces h.NAOTO) found on the sixth floor. It reminds me of a passage from Graham Greene’s Ministry of Fear… the protagonist visits a church fair, and there are trunks of antique clothing for sale – faded, moth-eaten and lace-laden garments from the 1800s.

Gramm reproduces the “grandma’s attic” look with a nod to Japanese Lolita. I love the metal buttons, the deconstructed and trailing pieces…

This pink and white high-waisted Gramm skirt is currently 50% off at Marui! (I think it retails for around $130.) You can see more of this new brand on the S-inc website.

I’ve been picking up kawaii knick-knacks… ridiculous Swimmer pens with giant cute heads, Doraemon band-aids, nail stick-on art. San-X’s brown bear Rilakkuma is one of my favorite characters… how about you? (You can find Rilakkuma goodies like the ones above on J-List.)
Song of the Day #149: Junior Boys – Parallel Lines (Chosen by Michael. Check out his site, This Is Everything I Own – it’s a tally of all his personal belongings, which include some of mine!)

Ia says:I love tare panda and sugar bunnies, but I've got way too many plush toys for a gal my age! My friends have commented – “It's scary!” haha
I love love love Gramm! It suits my aesthetic to a Z! There is a brand quite similar, and I believe they're either from the US or Europe (can't remember), they are called Gibbous. They're actually on myspace, I think fans of Gramm would really love them!
Also, you mentioned nail art and on the back of a magazine I saw nail pens by Sally Hansen to be used to create designs easily. I'm really interested in trying them out!

megan says:I really like the look of Gramm (the whole attic-y thing), but I don't think it's something I would personally wear.
Rilakkuma is one of my favorites too! I also like NyanNyanNyanko.

lacarmina says:Oooh, thanks – I'll have to look up Gibbous!
I saw those exact same nail pens hahah. In fact, I sent the company an email about it but they haven't replied. Boo to big company form letters.

lacarmina says:I think that might have been Gramm's problem… it looks amazing but I don't think it's selling too well. Almost all the pieces are half off at the Marui sale.
