GOTHIC LOLITA PLAYLIST: MANA'S MALICE MIZER AND MOI DIX MOIS.

Oh Mana-sama… how do we love thee… let us count the ways! I saw that many of you have Moi dix Mois and Malice Mizer on your MySpace playlists, and figured that I should get in on the action. I’ve created an Elegant Gothic Lolita playlist of every Mana-related song available on playlist.com. “Illuminati” and “Kyomu no Naka de no Yuugi” are my favorites – what about you?

TARINA TARANTINO’S “GOTHIC LOLITA” JEWELRY COLLECTION.
A growing number of Western designers are becoming inspired by Gothic Lolita, and LA-based Tarina Tarantino is one of them. She recently released a Gothic Lolita jewelry collection (see her website for more photos). Her accessories feature skull cameos, lucite hearts and bows, fleur-de-lis beads, and Swarovski crystals. And yes – that’s “Pink Head” Hello Kitty under the fuschia hair and crucifix dress.
I’m all for designers who draw upon Japanese Gothic Lolita while maintaining their personal signatures. Tarantino’s interpretation is well-realized because it is an extension of her bright, Hollywood scene queen style. Personally, I don’t covet her jewelry; I’m not a fan of the pink, the sparkles, and the overall slickness. The price tags are also hefty, at up to $250 a pop. But I can’t deny that her Gothic Lolita line is pretty darn cute.
What do you think?
