NILE PERCH LAFORET & HARAJUKU FAIRY KEI STORE PHOTOS: 1980S PASTEL POLKA DOTS, CARE BEARS PINS, SHOP FOR JAPANESE WOMEN’S STREET CLOTHING.

Shop for women's clothing in Tokyo Japan, Harajuku Girls store, puffy ballerina skirts and pastel 1980s girl's clothing. Fairy Kei fashion, Mania Q shop or boutique in Harajuku.

Dag spanky – I’m excited that many of you are into Fairy Kei fashion! One of my favorite “girls just wanna have fun” boutiques is Mania Q in Harajuku. Walk down the main shopping street (Takeshita Doori) and look for a small store on the right. As you can see, this Strawberry Shortcake toy box explosion is hard to miss.

Care Bears pins, big bow plush brooches with heart and star charms, baby girl retro 1980s fashion. Spank, Fairy Kei street style Shop for women's street designer clothing in Tokyo Japan, Harajuku Girls Gwen Stefani style photos.

Most of the brands in Mania Q are generic (read: affordable and adorable). My eyes popped out when I saw the wall of squishy bows and Care Bear toy pins ($20). The brooches were surprisingly heavy, so I’m planning to make my own…

ナイル・パーチ Nile Perch Fairy Kei store in Laforet, toy box fashion. Guide to shopping for women's designer cool clothing in Tokyo Japan, Harajuku Girls department store, crazy Japanese hair accessories, barbie doll bows.

Another destination for Fairy Kei addicts is Nile Perch, located in Shibuya and the Basement 1.5 level of Laforet department store. (For more Laforet pics, click here.) Fuzzy pastel vintage, handmade sparkly accessories, and a slightly terrifying Barbie doll head. It’s the best and worst of 1980s kitsch, and how I love it!

Song of the Day #132: Sex Gang Children – Oh Funny Man (recorded in 1983; excellent song and styling.)

  • Chribaby
Everything is soo cute~ I love that Lambchop shirt XD And I was thinking the same thing about the Barbie head LOL
  • I'm sort of freaked out by dolls... I refused to play with them as a child! Stuffed animals (especially kitties) for the win!
  • Chribaby
:O Really? What about Dollfies? Stuffed animals are always the best xD I still have some bears from when I was little.. and every once in a while, I try to catch something from a machine XD
  • Even Dollfies... I can't wrap my head around a human figure!

You've... caught a stuffed animal from a crane game? Hahah I've never been able to. It takes skill!
  • Chribaby
Dollfies used to horrify me, but now I kind of like them. But they're.. so expensive..
Haha yes xD I caught 2 My Little Ponies.. a basketball for a friend, and some spiky ball thing all in one day. xD But most of them are rigged ughh -_-
  • Jess
Haha I was practically the same way. I never had dolls and I only wanted to play with stuffed animals. I used to dress mine up in doll clothes and push them around in baby carriages. See Teddie bears can do everything those scary dolls can do!
  • They sure can. And my cat Basil Farrow can do everything that a human baby can - including dressing up!
