FUNNY KID'S DRAWINGS: MY LSD PSYCHEDELIC CHILDHOOD. HIPPIE FLOWER POWER RAINBOW CHILD'S ARTWORK.

It’s always a mind-trip to dive into my archive of childhood drawings. (Remember this and this post?) I wonder: what type of psychedelics were swirling around in my brain back then? A yin yang, musical notes, cute animals, rainbows, an optical illusion line… far out, mannn.

One of my favorite cartoons was Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers (anyone remember The Disney Afternoon?). I also liked the mushroom character Toad from Nintendo’s Super Mario Brothers. Funny that I drew him pixelated and reclining in an armchair.

The early 90s were all about neon: hot pink, highlight yellow and toxic green. You can tell that I always loved Sanrio characters. I don’t think I got the faddish 3D mouse watch I wanted for Xmas…

My life was a bed of rainbows. On the left, I drew goldfish dressed in fancy garments and relaxing in a boat… huh?

My map of my elementary school included a gumdrop tree… and lice bushes? Stay away from those!
What were you like as a wee one? Do you have any psychedelic memories or artwork?
Went to the Tim Burton exhibit at the MoMA today; you can look forward to coverage of this and more NYC/Tokyo awesomeness. Now I better sleep… there’s a full day of NHK TV filming tomorrow…
Song of the Day #281: Luna Sea – Storm (Who doesn’t love this catchy track?)
